Although I love hunting for work wear, one of the most fun things I find is looking for clothes to wear in my free time. As a Jersey girl I’ve always been drawn to all things sparkly and leopard print. While scrolling through Instagram I came across some sparkly rocker tees and I fell in love.

Warby Parker Home Try-On
A few weeks back I wrote a post about how I found my favorite pair of glasses. And I stillĀ loveĀ my Chanel frames, I wanted to check out the Warby Parker Home Try-On program. I recently got my eyes examined and wanted to see if there is a pair from WB that I would like. A few years back I was in love with the ones I picked up from there – so I figure it is about time I give it a shot again.
thredUp Review
I don’t know about you, but I love shopping for clothes online. I am always looking for new sites to try because I like to have an eclectic wardrobe. The hard part is though that if I’ve never shopped a certain site, I don’t know how things run or if it is legit or not. I’m pretty brave though with these things, and make sure to study return policies or reviews of the company beforehand. Recently I had bee hearing a lot about thredUp, a company that claims to be the easiest way to shop and buy high-quality second-hand clothes. While I can’t speak for the sales part (I’m selling my clothes on Poshmark at the moment) I can give you an honest review as a buyer. For the record, all of these opinions are my own, and I’m not working with the company on this review.
How to Succeed on Poshmark
I absolutely love shopping for new clothes. I’m guilty of making a few too many purchases online and then being overwhelmed when my mailbox is overflowing when I get home from work. But I love getting to try new things and experimenting with different styles. Unfortunately though I have a very, very small closet. I’ve written about this before – the one very effective way I can feed my passion and have room to keep my clothes is by using the Poshmark app. This is a service that lets you sell your used or new clothes, makeup and accessories, as well as kids and mens clothes.
Goodnight Macaroon Review
Recently I came across a website called Goodnight Macaroon. I had seen a number of beauty bloggers/vloggers wearing their clothes, and I wanted to check out the quality of their items. I placed an order for three items – one cardigan, one sweater, and a faux fur jacket. It made me nervous for two reasons, one – because it was coming directly from China, and two – because some of the items were one size fits all.
Finding the Perfect Glasses
I’ve been wearing glasses since I was in high school. I can remember being SO excited because I would get to pick out frames as my newest accessory. The very first pair I picked out were an awful cow print theme. I’ve had many, many pairs of glasses over the years, but I have finally found my favorite pair. In my last post I talked about picking up wardrobe goal pieces on a budget, and I do believe in doing that with your glasses as well. I have a pair from Warby Parker that I just adore. However, last year I needed a massive upgrade in my prescription, and so I made the choice to splurge on a pair of Chanel frames. I plan to have these for a long time, so I felt OK dropping some money.
Style on a Budget
Over the past few years I have fallen in love with watching YouTube videos from my favorite influencers. I find it fascinating and it is fun to get a sneak peak into someone else’s day to day life. However, the more I watch these videos, the more I lust after the latest luxury bag or wardrobe piece. While I enjoy watching these videos, I know that my current budget won’t allow me to purchase these things. However, I’ve done research to figure out how I might still be able to get some items in the style of my favorite designers, with only a fraction of the price tag.
Sam Edelman “Felicia” Flats – AKA The Most Comfortable Work Flats EVER
Since I was in grad school I have been looking for a pair of flats that I can wear professionally that won’t kill my feet. As someone who has had a stress fracture and numerous other issues, heels can be killer for me. I have my fair share of beautiful heels in my closet, and I love them, but when I’m at work and I have to give a tour, or work an event, I never reach for them. If I do, I stash flats in my bag to change into midway through the day.
People x The Voice Box
I’ve been home sick for the past week, and during my endless hours of Facebooking, I came across an ad for a box put together around the showĀ The Voice. Full disclosure, I don’t watch the show. I know what it is, I like the judges, but ultimately, I just don’t watch it. However, this box caught my eye.
It was put together by People.com, and is officially called People x The Voice Gift Box. The concept was that they put together a gift box designed around the three rotating female judges: Gwen Stefani, Christina Aguilera, and Shakira. Originally it retailed for $49.99 but is on sale for $20! They say the value of the box is $150, and I very much believe that. The brands are AWESOME. This is a serious find.Ā Click here to check it out! Note: I paid for this myself, and came across it on my own – I just love this box!
My favorite thing in the box is the adorable pair of sunglasses by celeb favorite Quay. These retail alone for $50!
The Ban.do coffee mug is one that I have seen all over, and probably wouldn’t have gone out of my way to get it, but only paying $20 for the box alone made it worth it. Plus it is pretty cute!
The poppin notebook is cute, and I’m a lover of stationery, so I’m positive this will get used!
I like Laqa & Co, and I LOVE this color. I seriously can’t wait to give it a try. Mine doesn’t look as dark as the picture below – mine is a light nude.
These earrings from Bauble Bar are adorbs! I wore them yesterday and just adore them. Note – they are very hard to take on and off, but so worth it!
These last two items are ok, and I’ll probably use them. I’m not a huge fan of Julep’s formula, but I’ll give it a shot! And the konjac sponge from Julep comes pre-moistened, so it should be interesting to try!Ā
Summer Fun: Festival Style
Two weeks back a group of us went to the Big Barrel Country Music Festival in Dover, Delaware. The festival is the sister to Firefly, which also takes place in Dover Downs, just with more mainstream artists. I was so excited for Big Barrel, and it was my first festival experience. I had NO idea what to really bring, and should have prepared better beforehand. Firefly was the weekend before, and the storms were so bad they had to evacuate. We were SO nervous about how to cope if it rained. (And it certainly did!) So I wanted to put together a post about what I brought/wore, and what I should have had with me!
Day One: Blake Shelton
The night before we discovered that there would be a ton of mud because of how bad the storms were. We went out and bought rain boots/sneakers to help us get around. I bought some fun tank tops before the concert because I really wanted to be festive! Below is the one I wore to Blake Shelton, and I bought it on Etsy. The temperature dropped a bit, and we couldn’t even wear shorts. If I didn’t wear jeans, I would have been pretty cold that night. Also, I chose to bring a backpack to have a hands free night. This wound up being great, and made it very easy to tote along all that we needed.
* Make sure to bring camping chairs! Double check they are allowed at other concerts, but we loved having them because they didn’t sink in the mud.
Overall the first night was so fun! We took pictures, and began to sample all of the different food trucks. [BBQ was amazing…] and my non-country music loving boyfriend really got into the Blake Shelton concert! Major win.
The Etsy shop is InkLabPrinting, and the shirt was PERFECT! Big thanks!
My backpack is from Macy’s made by Steve Madden ( I got it on major sale and paid much less!)
Day Two: Miranda Lambert
It POURED all day. I bought ponchos from Walmart before we left for Delaware, and made sure we had the thick kinds with hoods. And boy did we need them. We were staying near the outlets, and I stopped at the Bass outlet and picked up a pair of shoes for $30 which was the cheapest we could find. I got them so nasty with the mud, I wound up leaving them in the parking lot after the third night. A hat was also something crucial. It kept the rain out of my face, and allowed me to see in the storm. I bought a shirt from Etsy for this night, but wound up wearing a more comfy t-shirt because it was raining so hard. Below is what I originally bought. I purchased the hat from Marley Lilly!
The rain subsided for Miranda Lambert, and we were able to just relax and watch the concert. We were wiped that night!
Day Three: Carrie Underwood
This was by far, the most gorgeous day of them all. We got there very early, and everyone got to see their favorite performers. We went and bottle fed some goats and lambs, saw the Budweiser Clydesdales and then secured our spot for Carrie Underwood. We wound up getting bumped to VIPS and were only a few feet from the stage.
I bought a shirt in a boutique in NYC that I thought reminded me of Carrie Underwood’s style, and was so excited to wear it! If I can find a link, I’ll be sure to add it!
We had the BEST weekend, and can’t wait to go back next year! What are your concert must-haves?!
