Like most people who follow Tarte, I got that exciting email that they were releasing the Shape Tape Foundation. Considering I absolutely love their concealer, I just knew I’d have to try their foundation. I ordered the foundation almost the minute it came out. It comes in two versions, matte and hydrating. I picked up the matte in light neutral.

Just like the concealer – this is a true winner. It has an amazing finish and truly gives you a glowing look. I have paired this with my previously reviewed Perricone Cold Plasma, and it looks great. It has an airbrush effect – reminds me a lot of the Clinique Concealer/Foundation combo. From the bottle to the doe foot applicator, it is quite comparable – and I’d say the coverage is similar. The Tarte is a true full coverage foundation and the color I picked up is spot on.

I’ve heard rumblings on the internet that this formulation is the same as Tarte’s gel foundation, which I do have but haven’t used in a while. I’m going to test those back to back to see how similar they are.

The foundation does hold up throughout the day, and doesn’t break up around the nose/chin. It is perfect for special occasions, and works just a perfectly for every day. I snapped some pics running errands today to show how it holds up!
